- Project Manage the feasibility and installation of the 1700 tonne ARC Tidal Turbine at the EMEC test facility in a harsh tidal environment with current speeds reaching 8.5 knots.
- A Client who was a new entrant to the marine energy sector with minimal exposure to the marine and offshore environment.
Main tasks included
- Develop, manage and deliver a feasibility study and cost analysis
- Lead all associated and necessary installation engineering design
- Procure all necessary equipment and systems
- Prepare and execute the offshore installation within time constraints and budget
Key Skills Exhibited
- Lead a multi-disciplined team of structural, subsea and marine engineers to design and execute the project.
- Drawing upon 30 years of marine and offshore installation experience to develop and implement an installation methodology that was realistic, safe and financially achievable.
